Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 2026-03-02
1. Our Privacy Commitment
CalculatorTray follows a privacy-first design. We believe your financial data is your own. Our core principle is that the financial data you enter into our calculators is never sent to our servers, stored, or shared. We use cookies for advertising and analytics only with your explicit consent.
2. How Our Calculators Work
All calculations are performed directly within your web browser (client-side) using JavaScript. The data you input into the calculators never leaves your device and is never transmitted to any server.
3. Local Storage (Browser Storage)
To improve your experience, CalculatorTray may store the following data in your browser’s local storage (localStorage). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server:
- Calculation History: Your recent calculator results may be saved locally so you can revisit them. This data is stored under the key "calculatortray-history" and is limited to your 50 most recent calculations.
- Consent Preferences: Your cookie/advertising consent choices are stored locally to remember your settings between visits.
- Display Preferences: Settings such as dark mode preference are stored locally.
We use your browser’s local storage (localStorage) to save your calculation history and preferences locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings or our Cookie Preferences page.
4. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect any personal information like your name, email address, or phone number.
- We do not collect any financial data you enter, such as loan amounts, interest rates, or income.
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not set any cookies without your explicit consent. When you consent, third-party advertising cookies may be set by Google AdSense (see Section 7).
5. Hosting
This website is hosted on Vercel (Vercel Inc., San Francisco, USA). Vercel may process certain technical data such as IP addresses in server logs for security and operational purposes. Vercel’s infrastructure includes edge locations within the EU. For more information, see Vercel’s Privacy Policy.
6. DSGVO / GDPR Compliance
We are committed to compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO/GDPR). Since our calculators do not collect, store, or process personal data, the data minimization principle is inherently fulfilled. Where third-party services (such as advertising) are used, your explicit consent is obtained beforehand via our consent management system, in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR.
7. Advertising and Consent
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings.
We use Google Consent Mode v2 and Google Funding Choices to obtain your consent before setting any advertising or analytics cookies. By default, all non-essential cookies are blocked. You can manage your preferences at any time via our Cookie Preferences.
- With Your Consent: If you agree, Google and its partners may use cookies to show you personalized ads based on your interests.
- Without Your Consent: If you decline, you may still see ads, but they will be non-personalized and not based on your past activity.
8. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these other sites. We encourage you to be aware when you leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.
9. Your Rights (DSGVO Art. 15–21)
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. Since we do not store personal data from calculator usage, these rights primarily apply to any data processed by third-party services (e.g., advertising partners). To exercise your rights, contact us via the information on our Imprint.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
